My childhood was filled with trauma from a very young age. Going into care at 11 years old and dealing with abandonment issues resulted in me finding role models in all the wrong places. Trying to fit in and find belonging led to me making bad decisions and ending up in the criminal justice system.

Kicked out of school and removed from my  children’s home at 14 I fell through the gaps in society and succumbed to a life that was ultimately harmful to myself and others. Living a chaotic lifestyle for so many years I  gave up on life and accepted my situation as all that I was meant to be. I became my trauma accepting the labels of society as my identity.

My change came from rebuilding my identity through education  and focusing on who I wanted to be, not who I believed I was perceived to be.

Educating myself in areas I was passionate about ultimately led to me achieving things I never thought possible. A supportive network when times got  hard helped me to not give up and keep going even when things were challenging.

With a new sense of purpose i wanted to right some of the wrongs from my previous lifestyle.

Going back into the places that for me, hope was absent. Inspiring those who are facing similar challenges to what I once faced. Using my story and my journey as a beacon of hope and change.

The growth app is my way of helping as many people as possible to take control of their own lives and write the ending to their own story. This is my why.

Building The Growth App wasn't just about creating a tool; it was about constructing a bridge between society and those emerging from the shadows of incarceration. We believe in second chances and real opportunities.
